dvtv live broadcast 9.20.07

some football thug goes to jail, out on bail, makes no difference to my life - makes no difference to yours. to know that an all-white jury can sentence a teenager in Louisiana to 22 years just because he’s black, that makes a difference to me. that’s real.

This is so beautifully put. You know there are some white people and asian people who are frightened of black people or foreigners. It's so superficial, it's weird...kind of like having a thing for blonds or rock stars or something, only when there's a fetish or an attraction, it's cause. But when it's racism, it's not right. Some places in the south are like decades behind diverse New York. I can only pray that this child's personal grief and sacrifice can mean somehow without him being and dying a matyr.

And remember when those ten schoolk girls were shot and some of them died in the Amish Country, and the community including the parents forgive the assassin to a point of donating a portion of the contributions they received to his widow and child? How some people forgive and other's lynch with the slightest provocation...and
then the press brings it to us. I don't know who is dangerous and who is not by reading an article or by headlines in a tabloid. This will be a civil rights story for a long time to come possibly making the history books while children are under lock and key, and there are many others like them including 45 and 50 year old children who go unnoticed. What can we do? Write a letter? March? Keep our own noses clean? Feel? The rescue sqad has a tight Louisana system to come up against and unfortunately it seems like an angry set of paretns took it to the courts and that maybe this will be an example so that people remember and crime is perhaps lowered. It's a waste of life whem innocent people are prevented from being who they are in the world. Then again some people may feel that creating the story is enough. People are suffering in captivity and exile Rich.

then again -it might be a reflection of pure hatred, racism and entitlement. It's there right out in the opened and some groups get more of a bunt and have to prove themselves and reshape themselves to assimilate and cope more than others.
